My opinion on the book was it was just AIGHT. It was decent; I kept my attention through most of it. Some stories felt like they was taking for ever but I got through them. The Castle story was boring as hell, the like the Manison story was tight. Throughout the book it varies. The author explains and details his stories very very well. The book was very relatable and I think anyone would be able to pick it up for a quick read. The stories are in depth and just leave you astonished with what you just read. Things are happening in this world that you would never imagine, and after reading it your left with an open mind, because you just read some crazy ass shit. But over all I enjoyed the book. I think I would have rather read Our America but it’s good, I am lived it, mine as well open up my surroundings and learn about the Testy Festy!!!

If I were to tell the class my opinion of the book I would say "wow what a great read I love it so much". Even if I don't like it just to not talk about it, but that's not going to work here. Don't get me wrong it's a great book and story that must be told but the truth is there are people worse off and I'd rather here their story. I don't know I sound mean today because I not having a good day yo'. but lealan and Lloyd were great young kids in a fucked up place who did something great with their lives. They unlike allot of the children around them strived to be better, do better, and live better. What I think is great about them is that even without the project those boys would have done something great. they would have left that place no matter what happened to they just had the will to move on in life to be a step ahead of their parents. Which I think most all people try to do just move to be even a little better right above their parents make in run to the goal their parents didn’t.

I believe this book is a book that your opinion doesn’t matter. Of course I couldtalk about palinuks writing ability witch is superb. He mixes real life events with easy to take life lessons all in one page and over and over again. But this is a book where each reader takes the pictures that palinuk paints and infers them in their own ways. Each person can feel a completely different way then the next person about each story. This is true about most books but not on the level that stranger then fiction registers. You are not used to the stories that palinuk presents to you. Lack of knowledge equals fear and fear equals vulnerability. When a story makes you feel venerable you are more susceptible to information because your guard is down. I can tell you this is the best book or the worst book but this book is truly a book you must read to find out about, it could go both ways. It all depends on the person.

My opinion of the book could be described in one word would have to be: UNEXPECTED. This book took me to new heights that I didn’t even expect whatsoever. Stranger Than Fiction was a book of many surprises and revelations. Chuck Palahniuk let me view things as he would. He seems to be one of the most real authors that I probably would ever read. He doesn’t judge. He doesn’t try to force his opinion on you. He tells it like it is. As the reader, he lets you form your own opinion on everything that is going on in the book. So many things occur. As regular people, we probably would have judged these people right off the back. Not even letting them explain what it is that drives them to do what they may do. That’s why most of the people in the book tend to keep that part of their lives secret. They feel as though people would never understand their heart desires. Chuck helped me to see people and the things that they love in a different light. I now would not try to knock someone else for having their own forte. Not everyone in the world has the same qualities. That is something that I’ve learned from Stranger Than Fiction; I plan to practice that in my everyday life.

My opinion of The Last American Man is that it was very good. It inspired me to change my lifestyle. Elizabeth Gilbert wrote about Eustace Conway's life. I think it's important that she told us about how Eustace grew up. She talked about his relationship with mom, dad, his brothers and sister. So the audience should be able to understand why Eustace chose to make such an extreme decision. I learned about what he believes in, who he fits in with, and what he thinks about the rest of the world that he doesn't want back to be part of, atleast until it's back to what it used to be. I agree with most of what Eustace says about what our American Society has turned into. But I would like to hear more about his comparison between our American society and foreign countries. He chose to stay in America and live there for the rest of his life, when he could live in another country where the citizens aren't so lazy and sloppy and they appreciate the oppurtunities given to them. Maybe he would feel more comfortable there. But the book itself is gravy.

"Our America" was one of the most interesting reads I've been assigned in a long time. Growing up in America ,the land of opportunity, we never hear the perspective of those who victims of the hardships of the ghetto. LeAlan Jones and Lloyd New man the masterminds behind this effort, gave there perspectives as well as cuducted interviews with locals in the area gaining incite on issues with the Ida B. Wells housing projects. Reading this book gave me the assurance of how lucky I really was when I was growing up back in 1993.The murder of Eric Morse broke my heart because this child who would have been about my age today had his life cut short when he was thrown out a 14 story building by children that were only 10 and 11 years old. This is just one example of how difficult growing up in the ghetto really is between the gang violence, Drug abuse, and poverty. Our America is a wake up call to society that we need to be aware of those caught in domestic struugle. At least for me it was anyway.

If i was to tell the class my opinion of the book i just read i would say wow!!. I would say that because it was a great book, i dont think i have ever read a book like that well i never finished a book never found it a interesting thing to do. The book Our America was really well written i under stood the writing i understood the story. It was not boring it kept me in my seat till i thought i had enough of it it was just a very powerful thing. i say powerful because that what those kids had power they had power in them they didnt give up on nothing. i just makes me see how far they have gone from being in a bad hood. They would be seen as kids living in the ghetto becoming a nobody just no future. The book made me remeber myself and how stupid i was and i was almost there age and i didnt think that way i should of thought about what i was doing just like Lealan and Lloyd did they kept themselves involved in good things.I would tell everybody they have to read this book if they have not read it because you will understand how this world is really messed up and how others suffer more than you.

Stranger Than Fiction, being the only book I have ever read all the way to the end, I found it highly interesting. I enjoyed the various stories and how they all juxtapose each other; especially the stories of the author’s life himself. Palahniuk gives full length non-fiction stories that sound fiction. However, not all the stories were interesting. The story Demolition didn’t grasp my attention as well as thought it would and the story about Manson and his thought was by far my favorite. Even though we read these books for an assignment or grades, it has inspired me to actually check out his other works. Hell, maybe I’ll even see “Fight Club.”

I think that Our America was a great book. I really liked it because it gave their view or perspective on their life. They told us about what they have to go through to get through their neighborhood. They told us their life story. I like how they interviewed people and how they got other peoples’ views about how they are. They also asked other people about the changes that occurred in their neighborhood, if any. They would record any and everything that came to mind. They loved school and they loved learning.
